Is an annual communication campaign aimed at raising awareness among women about breast cancer screening and raising funds for research. The symbol of this event is the pink ribbon.
Its Anglo-Saxon equivalent is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Held every October, this campaign aims to increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for research. It was established in 1985.
We organized the 2nd edition of the race/walk: ‘Pink October – Health for ALL’ on October 21, 2023, in the city of Yaoundé. This race/walk aimed to raise awareness about the benefits of physical activity and its importance during and after cancer treatment. It also allowed for awareness-raising activities, training, and screenings for breast cancer, cervical cancer, and hepatitis.
Why the race/walk?
The mission aims to educate, inform, and raise awareness among local populations about the risks associated with breast and cervical cancer, highlighting the importance of getting screened.
To raise awareness among a wide audience about the benefits of physical activity (prevention and remission).
To raise funds to provide free screenings for women and support urgent cases.
