Who we are

Mapubi.eV is a non-profit organization that was founded in March 2009 in Eschborn, Germany, by 7 young African immigrants who wanted to create an ecosystem that would foster the exchange of knowledge in the fields of information technology, health care and the environment, to promote job creation and save lives in Africa.

During its years of existence, Mapubi has been implementing several projects in Cameroon, Nigeria and Togo which have provided participants with career guidance from our experts, as well as training and workshops in software engineering, marketing and entrepreneurship.

So far, these projects have had a direct impact on more than 10,000 young people from disadvantaged communities in Cameroon and Nigeria, who have been able to find the right career guidance, a job or start a small business.

Today, Mapubi has expanded from a main representation in Eschborn, Germany, to several partner organizations in France (Mapubi NGO) and Cameroon (Mapubi Labs). These partner organizations were founded by alumni of Mapubi summer schools in Cameroon and members of Mapubi in France.
Our non-profit association aims at providing an intellectual knowledge exchange plateform to support development in third world countries, in the following areas:

  • Education
  •  Health Care
  • Environment

We are a diaspora organisation

For Mapubi e.V., the term diaspora embodies more than its conventional definition as a group of people living outside their ancestral homeland. In our context, diaspora represents a global community of interconnected individuals who actively contribute to the development of both their host countries and countries of origin. This dual role highlights the diaspora’s multifaceted identity, blending cultural heritage with the responsibilities and opportunities of living in a different cultural and geographic space.
Our definition emphasizes:
    1. Cultural Preservation and Exchange: A celebration of cultural diversity through initiatives that promote heritage, such as nation parades, music, and fashion showcases.
   2. Developmental Impact: Mobilizing resources, skills, and expertise to foster economic, social, and digital development in African countries, particularly Cameroon, Nigeria, and Togo.
    3. Empowerment and Collaboration: Building networks to empower members and engage in impactful part

Our Mission

We focus on simple projects that make a big difference in people’s lives in developing countries.

We believe in the diversity of potential of the human resources in developing countries, especially in
Africa. We believe education is the key to success and are committed to support projects in this field, in the above mentionned areas.

The network is composed mainly of Africans and friends of Africa, working in technology, engineering and medical professions in the Western World, and willing to share their time and knowledge for simple- , short term- and non profit projects in developing countries.
