The Gala and MasterMinds Forum brought together an inspiring community focused on the theme of digital transformation and its implications for the future. With a strong emphasis on empowering young people in Africa and the diaspora, keynote speakers such as Gbenga Sesan, CEO of Paradigm Initiative, and Ango Fomuso Ekellem, a STEM expert, highlighted the critical importance of access to digital opportunities.

They discussed how extracurricular projects within their organizations serve as a vital foundation for equipping youth with the skills necessary for success in business and technology.

The event also featured representatives from esteemed project partners, including Maren André from Lufthansa Industry Solutions and Laura Single from HelpAlliance. Both emphasized the significance of corporate responsibility in driving sustainable initiatives. Maren André spoke about LHIND’s strategy to build bridges across industries, focusing on waste reduction and social responsibility. Laura Single elaborated on the HelpAlliance’s efforts to engage employees in community development, particularly through education and income-generating initiatives.

As the event unfolded, Olivia Davis-Mbou, the founder of Mapubi, summarized the organization’s achievements over the past decade and its ambitious goals for the future. She underscored the diaspora’s vital role in fostering strong partnerships between Africa and Germany, creating opportunities that are mutually beneficial. Maximilienne Fourreaux, CEO of mapubiONG, presented a noteworthy hospital renovation project, highlighting the organization’s commitment to impactful initiatives.

The MasterMinds Forum featured a dynamic panel discussion with experts such as Gladys Kenfack from Microsoft, Carolin Schröder from LHIND, and Romeo Nwansi from Toltec Consulting. They engaged in a thought-provoking exchange on the challenges posed by the digital revolution in Africa, including issues related to infrastructure and data security, while also exploring the abundant opportunities that this transformation can bring.

In a subsequent event, the community expanded to include new participants, particularly from Nigeria and Kenya. A diverse group of 77 guests attended, including notable figures such as the President of the Kenyan Women’s Association and the Ambassador of Cameroon to Germany. The event was expertly moderated by Eric Kouamo and Philly Yambo, setting a welcoming tone from the outset.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome and prayer by Olivia Davis-Mbou, followed by a keynote address from the Mayor of Eschborn, who acknowledged Mapubi’s impactful work in Africa and praised the support of sponsors like GiZ and Lufthansa. A video presentation showcased the Africa TalentHub project in Cameroon, further illustrating the organization’s dedication to fostering talent.

The second part of the event featured a panel discussion on co-creating an inclusive and sustainable future. Esteemed panelists Jean Adadevi, Isyoma Sonnemann, Ngoc Linh, and Liliane Lowe shared valuable insights and engaged with an enthusiastic audience, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving sustainable development goals.

Overall, both events were a resounding success, fostering connections among community members, partners, and experts while inspiring a collective commitment to drive positive change in Africa and beyond.
