A REPORT OF THE JANUARY PMP TRAINING 2019 YAOUNDE

The PMP® (Project Management Professional) Certification Preparation took place from the 7 th to the 11 thof January 2019 and what is being organized by eCOMnet (a corporate training center in Yaoundé and the host company of MAPUBI COWORKING) in collaboration with MAPUBI NGO. 

​This contribution was fully sponsored by the MAPUBI NGO. Startups attending to the training thus benefited from a discounted training fee in comparison to the regular market prices. The PMP® certification training welcomed 2 startups CEOs, 2 NGOs executives and 2 internal consultants.

​Participants represented organizations based in Togo, Nigeria and Cameroon and working in the industries of Marketing / Tourism, Information Technology, Healthcare, Government and Non-Profit.
The PMI® standards help you to learn how to apply the PMI® standards, tools and processes to their projects and to manage complex project situations. During the various interactions during the class, they also learned how PMI® methodologies can be applied to projects in different work areas. Various discussions were raised on the PMI® standards can be successfully used in the African context.

Content of the training preparation included the fundamental elements of project management; the PMI® methodology and the 13 main chapters were treated.

Mrs. Olivia DAVIS-MBOU, PMP® who has been working as a Technology Consultant and Product Manager in Germany, France and North America for the past 15 years as well as managing community projects in Africa.
During this training program, we were so honored by the presence of experts and mentors Including Mr. Martin MADIBA Ebongué, PMP® a board member of camair-co and Mr NDJAMBA MBELECK, the owner of Yoomee Cameroon who explained 'the benefits of a PMP® certification for the career of a manager and for the company applying the standards.

The Mapubi NGO aims to collaborate with MAPUBI COWORKING and other hubs in Africa to promote the use of PMI® standards in African institutions.
